Join or Die Pennant

Join or Die Pennant

This shirt depicts the iconic "Join or Die" wood-cut popularized by master printer Benjamin Franklin. The political cartoon was originally created in 1754 to rouse support and unity among the British colonies to fight off French traders and Native Americans during the French and Indian War. The woodcuts meaning changed when the Revolutionary War came about; it became a call to action for the colonies to unite and fight against British tyranny.

Wool pennant crafted in Buffalo, NY by Oxford Pennant.  Dimensions are 9x27".
